Nritya Chitra — The Soul of Dance, Etched in Light
Drawn from Sanskrit, Nritya means dance, and Chitra means image — together, they evoke the art of capturing movement in stillness.
Nritya Chitra is where the timeless beauty of Indian classical dance meets the art of photography. It is not merely the capture of motion, but the stilling of a moment rich with meaning — a fleeting glance, a sculpted mudra, the gentle sweep of fabric in rhythm with the soul. Through the lens, each photograph becomes a canvas of emotion and grace, preserving the poetry of dance in visual form. Nritya Chitra is an ode to heritage — where the dancer performs, the light paints, and the camera remembers.
About the photographer..
Hi! I'm Nandan
My love for dance began during the many late nights spent at our local temples, watching Kathakali performances with my dad, who took me along when I was just a little boy. My passion for photography came a bit later, thanks to my uncles who introduced me to the craft and generously let me play with their cameras — sparking a lifelong fascination with capturing moments.
